Welcome to Japanese 3 "Check out my hometown!" (LA2J3), a new subject for Term 3 at Sanderson Middle School, NT Australia!

Hopefully you will have fun learning Japanese in our class this term!

There are many opportunities on offer this term for students learning Japanese which is very exciting. Apart from the camp, there are also opportunities to enter a short film competition, art competition and join the Friday afternoon Japanese Club. See each page for more detail and feel free to let カフせんせい or ゆきせんせい know if there is anything particular you would like to see on this site!

In this course you will learn about:

• some major cities in Japan, especially Kyoto
• おみやげ　(the custom of souvenir giving

You will learn to:

• ask others where they live and say where you live
• describe your city or town
• ask and say what is there
• read and write katakana in addition to hiragana and kanji
• and much more!

Evidence of learning is provided through:

• Creating a brochure for Japanese visitors
• Creating a song/radio segment that promotes Darwin
• Weekly mini tests and end of term test
